Imagine the scenario: You will be given 1 Million dollars (in your respective currency) if you press the button..... ...but pressing the button will kill somebody you know. Which could be a family/friend/acquaintance/a person you hate or a random guy you know from seeing out and about. Would you? |

Nah. Money's nice and all, but I doubt I'd be able to live with the choice if it was somebody I had never met before, let alone risk it being somebody I know and care about. |

"Then you've got the chance to do better next time." "Next time?" "Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is."

Absolutely not. When money takes precendece over other people, especially family members, there's something wrong with you. |

No way. Even the life from a person I know nothing about has more value than an infinite amount of money. |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

I would NOT do it. Even if it was a billion dollars or even if it was a complete stranger I never met. I still would NOT do it. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I did so. |

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I'd struggle with the decision for ages. The idea of getting loads of money bothers me and a million isn't even that much these days. Someone would probably just rob me unless it was super discreet and then the government would probably be pissed off at me since on benefits I'm only allowed £15,000 to my name. Huge investigation there I'd imagine. Even if it was cash people would ask questions "how the f*** did you afford that Corvette?" It'd probably be more hassle than it's worth. If it was like 100 million or more, where I could move to a foreign country or something and not have to worry, then hell yeah. Might even kill myself a child rapist. The chance of it being someone you know is astronomically low unless it happens to be rigged. |

Wouldn't do it. I'd imagine that's what any sane person would answer. And some of you missed the question. It's SOMEBODY YOU KNOW. |

It's easy enough to say no in such a situation both on a moral ground and the fact that, most of are on a good enough income I think that we don't need the risk. That's easy I think so if you don't mind, let me add something to the conversation that might tweak things up a bit. Everyone is saying "no" an those who aren't are obviously just kidding and for good reason really. A million dollars while enticing in terms of numbers usually isn't necessary and not for the life of another. More so if its somebody you knew. However what if the "million dollars" was changed to something a bit more severe. Let's say you had a terminal illness and you were going to die in a few days. Would you be willing to exchange your death with that of another (and for argument sake let's say its somebody you care about) It's easy enough to say no to something if the risk isn't high enough. But what if the risk of not doing it was your own life? Would you still be able to hold on to the moral high ground and accept your fate or would you give into temptation and sacrifice another so you could live? |
